College Opening and Covid-19 pending students (10 August 2020)

January 14, 2021

After a long deliberation we opened our college for the second year only. On 10 August 2020 inaugural Mass was celebrated with 49 students from the three dioceses who arrived St. Luke’s College safe and sound. But after a month the students had to return home as the Covid-19 lockdown news spread louder and louder. Many of the students went back easily. But the students from Lashio diocese found difficulty to go home for the lockdown policy imposed by the government. Including volunteers there are 9 students still pending to go home. While they are waiting for going home, they are taking music, computer and English language classes form 9 o’clock in the morning to 3: 30 o’clock in the afternoon. St. Luke’s College staffs are teaching them willingly. St. Luke’s College will officially open again only when all schools open.
